Is Colonialism still alive? or at least is the colonial imperialist mentality still around?

If so, how much of this is a cause or accelerant of the terrorism plague?

America's imperialism, or atleast perceived, instigates the terrorism against us and those of our allies.

After all, the terrorists don't really hate us for our freedoms as that quote has been said by Bush "The terrorists hate us for our freedoms". While some do it for radical religious reasons that are not actually part of that religion, a lot of them do it because they perceive us trying to take over the middle east and rule it as we think it should be ruled. The setting up Israel is probably what was the last straw.

America is not nor has it ever been an imperialistic country. If colonialism is still around it is not here.
