if your parents said you couldnt date someone that was a different race to you, would you go against their wishes or accept it and move on? do you think this is fair even if your not racist and they are?

As a parent I would not express an opinion on the race of a boy/girl friend it would depend on them and what they were like. I would express concerns on marriage, the couple would have no problems from me or my family but they would have problems with other people and their mixed race children. It's not only whites who are bigots and racist

Your parents shouldn't stop you from seeing someone that you feel strongly for. It depends on your age and how you feel about this person, if its just a casual thing it might be a good idea to leave it. But if you have strong feelings for this person, you should give it a go, they might just be the one your supposed to be with and might not get that chance again

My parents do actually disapprove of me dating or marrying outside my race, but I do it anyways. I simply am not attracted to black men, and never will be. My parents are very firm on this issue and it doesn't look like they will change their mind, but neither will I. So come what may, I'm not changing who I am, and neither should you. *u*

I am black and both my parents are dead, but they wouldnt mind that I date only white men. That is my own choice, and I grew up in a house where I was allowed to think for myself. I make my own decisions, and as long as it doesnt affect anyone ( I dont see how me dating white men should affect anyone), we should all be fine.

If the person's right for you, you'll know & do anything to be with them, even if it means disobeying your parents & lets be honest - once over 18 a person's parents can offer advice etc but you don't have do do what they say.

I probably wouldn't have to go against their wishes because I'm not too big of a fan of it for my own personal self
