It is when you do not know that it is. We are neither good nor we can have a claim to be good. But we can choose to be good or bad by virtue or by folly of our actions. And while we are intent upon doing noting but good, saying nothing but good and seeing nothing but good, the temptation to do other wise is always there; the ‘dark forces’ always lurk in our hearts and minds. When we overlook this fact about our nature and assume that we are good, that we are all right, we are likely to stumble and fall.
It is not advisable to the mind to know the evil, or the forces of darkness may that be anger, lust, greed or fear. But it is indispensable to know the nature of one’s own heart and therefore the mind. But knowledge is the light in the mind that casts shadows of doubt in the heart, the light of faith, however, leaves no shadows for the ‘dark forces’ to hide in.
