I've been suspended from ebay, and I'm doing the correct steps in order to get the account reestablished. But...if this doesn't work for some reason, couldn't I just open up an ebay account with a fake name and address? Basically "anonmyous", like john smith or something...after all, as long as I'm being a fair and honest seller, is that really ethically wrong? Ebay shut my business down for absolutely no reason(other than there faulty automatic security software finding "unusual activity" with my account(which is completely bogus, I have 100% perfect feedback.) Anyways, I don't see any unethical practices if I don't use a real name, as long as I'm sending out product that is described well, and having good customer service with my buyers. This is only a las resort, however.

acermill, I'm sorry that you are so naive to ebays practices against sellers. You've NEVER heard a story of someones account getting closed down for no reason at all? I hope you have a seller account, and someday you log in to find your account suspended, then you may think differently. Until then, stfu.

You should contact eBay support to find out what happened.
It might have been shut down because it was hacked, and that was the "unusual activity".
You don't want to lose your 100% perfect feedback.
Do not attempt to defraud eBay with a fake name. It won't work anyways as you need a bank account or credit card.

You are best advised to work this out with eBay. If their software is actually at fault, as you claim, you should be able to adequately explain your situation to those in charge.
eBay is not in the business of shutting down accounts without a good reason to do so. After all, active accounts are how eBay makes its income and revenues.
Is there more to this story than we are hearing in this forum ?

If you're account got suspended for no reasn just contact eBay and tell them. It makes no sense to lie.

I know ebay is kynda anal...
I would create a new account.. A fictitious name all that....
Ya know that other people do this too.. And they were prob guilty...peAce

I would just use somebody else's name and address... friend or family.....
