Because republicans are sick and tired of subsidizing your socialized children's playgrounds.
Ugh.

Well to start with, have you ever priced the cost of playground equipment lately. It's tens of thousands of dollars.
The city parks in my town are still full of fun equipment for kids as are the city schools, which keep their playgrounds open year round.
I believe the equipment is disappearing from federal parks just because it cost too much.

Some playground equipment was poorly engineered and caused injuries. Localities lack funds to buy new equipment and maintain it. This is not a priority because the philosophy of less government has meant fewer public services which benefit ordinary people.
mymadsky - Parents didn't get millions for skinned knees, maybe for permanant brain injuries to their children, but not for scrapes. The law doesn't work like that.

previous kit would not final as long and incredibly some toddlers die or are harm together as taking part in on it. Merry-bypass rounds and teeter-totters knocked youngster's teeth out and given them concussions and broken bones (i'm certainly one of them). steel replace swings pinch arms and catches hair and clothing in chain hyperlinks specially circumstances heavily injuring or killing the youngster. interior the iciness steel is slippery and interior the summertime it particularly is in basic terms approximately on hearth and motives burns. wood breaks and splinters with age inflicting toddlers to fall or have wood products of their physique and infections from micro organism living interior the wood. After a wet week wood playgrounds and wood have mildew or algae starting to be on it. many toddlers like my brother are allergic to mildew. If a newborn pees or gets blood on the wood how do you sanitize that? With plastic you are able to certainly sparkling and sanitize the kit. i might say the hot playgrounds are safer and final longer then the previous kit.

I'm sorry. Where I live we have playground equipment. Video games, fast food are contributing factors. Overly busy lifestyles. When I was raising my children we had dinner with each other almost every evening. We walked, rock climbed, went swimming and biking together.

So that there would be fewer paralized, head injured, and crippled children.
Those play objects have been removed and replaced by climbing structures with safety features.
And I disagree. It's not the play equipment. Kids have less playtime because of the greater availability of in-home entertainment and the decreased number of hours spent at home by families.
Also neighborhoods are built to keep cars moving freely, not people moving freely.

It is excessive lawsuits. My ex father-in-law was the COO of one of the country's largest playground equipment manufacturers. Parents were getting millions of dollars for skinned knees, pinched fingers and other minor injuries. The cost of insuring a public playground is cost inhibiting.

Where do you live? There's still plenty of equipment in the parks around here.
