My husband was robbed at gun point at the drive through window of our bank. They took everything from us. It was caught on camera. The bank teller later said it look suspisious, but yet did nothing. We are thinking about going to the bank president and asking for reimbursment of our money since as a bank their job is to protect their customers' money, especially if it happened at thier establishment. The robbers were loitering around for some time looking for a victem as seen on camera, doesn't that account for anything?? What can we say to get our money back? Who should we go to? Or are we not to trust our well being at a bank? Please tell me your sources. Thank you

If you were robbed at gunpoint in the Walmart parking lot would you sue Walmart????

I'm sorry it sucks that you were robbed, but placing the blame on anyone but the criminals that robbed you is wrong. I'm sure this is a financial harship for you, contact your local police stations victim relief department and see if they can get you some help.

THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE.

You may have a negligent tort action available against the bank. The bank has a duty to warn, make safe, and inspect their property for any natural and artificial dangers. As applied here, the robbers would be considered an artifical condition. Therefore, if you are able to show that the bank knew, or had reason to know, about the potential dangers (i.e. suspicous people hanging around the area), they are negligent in not doing something about it.

I believe that the bank has a duty to provide a safe environment to transact business. Contact the President and tell him/her that you should be reimbursed. If you do not get anywhere, go to a lawyer.
