X^2-5X=12

X^2-8X+15

x² - 9x - 36 - 0

x² - 12x + 3x - 36 = 0

x(x - 12) + 3(x - 12) = 0

(x + 3)(x - 12) = 0

Factor the equation.
x^2 - 9x -36
(x-12) (x+3)

Solve for x.
x^2 - 8x +15 = 0
