Hm, good question. I don't know... Haha, just kiddin'.
They're either extremely bored or trying to up their points/level...as if it really matters.

Because they're idiots!!! It drives me up the wall when I see people who do that. If you're going to answer a question, then formulate a friggin answer! "I don't know" is not beneficial to anybody and certainly is unnecessary. Or sometimes people don't even bother to type it out and simply write "idk" as if they just did some marvelous thing by telling you that they don't know AND they don't know how to type. If you don't know an answer, the person asking the question doesn't care! They're asking all of the thousands of people who DO know the answer and they couldn't care less about who DOESN'T know. In my opinion, all questions should have to be at least two sentences long unless the asker decided that they are allowed to be shorter. (For example, if they just wanted the name of the new Harry Potter book or something) I cannot see any benefit to answering a question by telling the person that you don't know, and it drives me nuts. Sorry, this turned into a personal rant... I do that sometimes :P

Lol! To bad! I was going to say "I don't know" JK- Maybe they just want the two points? That IS pretty rude to answer simply with I don't know. Exactly what you said, if you don't know, don't answer. But I'm sure they just want the points, which is a really silly reason to be on here. It's not like you're going to win a million dollars for having the most points. Personally, I get on here to get advice, give advice and help each other. I'm sorry for all of the jerks out there who are not smart enough to answer your questions! =)

I feel the same way. They just do IT because there is no thought put into snagging a 2 pointer. If I don't know or want to get involved in that question I just move on. I wish others would do the same b/c some people ask serious questions and want serious opinions. Sorry bout that I'm gonna shoot you a star ;)

Those people are unsure of their answer, or would just like to issue a comment. Or maybe the question which prompted those kinds of answers are opinion based or they see it as too difficult or impossible for anyone to answer. Or maybe, just maybe, they somehow think Yahoo! Answers as some kind of game, like in that XBox (?) Online point system... O.O ...and would like that precious treasure of 2 points.

Because they are too lazy or really don't know :)) what to answer and they are only interested in earning 2 points....... It is very annoying and disappointing when you see a whole list of answers with "don't know", so I understand you...........

They are stupid and only want 2 points, they don't really care about giving the person real answers they just want the points. I totally agree with you, though.

Agree, but they get points for answering. Guess they are desperate for points. I know I am, but I would do this.
