Is glass or digital better?

Definitely get digital. I broke a mercury glass thermometer and it was a disaster to clean up. Mercury is not easy to clean up and is very dangerous if any gets missed.
I recommend the Becton Dickinson digital thermometer because their thermometers are guaranteed for life; if yours stops working they will send you a new one. All the BD thermometers are basal thermometers and I have had a very good experience with them. Good luck.

Get a digital one that is specifically for Basal Body Temping. Also, make sure it has a recall feature. If you accidentally fall back to sleep and forget to write it down the recall is a real life-saver!
