As they say, even a broken clock is.....
First, I LOATHE that woman and despise her from the depths of my soul. But, I think she is "partially" right here.

This newly formed Iraqi government has an extremely difficult row to hoe. They have no experience with self government and are doing the best they can. Don't forget how long it took America to finally hammer out a Constitution that all could agree to.
One interesting point made recently is that the Iraqi government is far more productive than congress is these days.
As far as the insurgency popping up elsewhere that is what they do. It takes a carpenter to build a garage; any jackass can kick it down. The Iraqi government are attempting to build a democratic government where there are no others; among people who have never lived under anything but tyranny and surrounded by jackasses.
It takes what it takes to get the job done. Imposing time limits only adds to the possibility of failure.

I don't know - I haven't been to Iraq. I was read into a few programs at the 'Level 4' level in a prior career - the truth is that the "sense" that you get about foreign and defense policy has no basis in reality - - on this one I don't even know if it's left wing media bias, it's just that the media doesn't know - it's the blind leading the blind.
We can debate how much information should be out there or shouldn't be but the fact is it's not. This sort of question, as well as the truth about whether no big terrorist attacks in the US since 9/11 is because of luck or intervention, we just will never fully know.

I agree with that, for the most part. I don't know if it's our media or what, but I have heard almost nothing about what the Iraqi government is doing to stop the violence, or what is going on diplomatically. What I do know if that we (along w/ the Iraqi gov't) have met only 8 of 18 benchmarks.
Since force does not seem to be working, I'd like to know if diplomatic efforts are being made ~ or is there really no Plan B with this...?
What is with me agreeing with you lately?! It's like a parallel universe ;-)

The Iraqi government has to come to an agreement and stand up fpr themselves. A centralized government with 3 regions for Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds has been a possible solution. More on this at http://www.joebiden.com/issues/?id=0009

The fundamental problem with the ME is that (except for Israel) NONE of the nations over there have "natural" borders, and therefore, none of the populations think iof themselves as "I am a first."
Iraqis in the south do NOT think of themselves as "fellow citizens" with Iraqis in the North.
Penelope is right: divide it into 3 more natural countries, where the people will feel a greater sense of statehood.

I agree totally, and probably won't vote for Hillary, either.
I wont go so far as to say that Hillary is right or brilliant for saying that, but she does seem to understand how americans feel about the situation in Iraq.

What the politicians are using to their benefit is that the Iraqi's and most foreign countries have a totally different way of doing business than we do here in the US. What we see as slow and non productive is the total accepted way of doing business over there. They think Americans are crazy and obsessed with work. We need to help them find a middle ground.

I agree also, which is amazing considering the source. But, then again, my only sources about the Iraqi government has been NBC, ABC, and CBS, so I don't know the whole story.

Why should Iraqis work towards anything as long as they have the US to do all the work for them?
Get the hell out - and let them run their own country. 'But it will descend into chaos' scream the idiot bushbots.
It has already happened - and you missed it, just like everything else.

yes i agree with this statement.
And I think the concerns of the Iraqi government are not heard in America. We are forcing Iraq to operate on our terms. It will never work this way.
