The lefties are filled with hatred, fueled by media bias that continuously puts our soldiers in a bad light. When have you seen any of the positive things that the military has accomplished in the media. All we see are things like Abu Ghraib, civilian deaths or abuse. They never mention progress or the fact that a village now has clean water.

I read every link I could find about this and I did not see it mentioned anywhere that this nutjob was a "peace activist." It said he was "angry at the government" and wanted to make some kind of loony statement so he shot the soldier on July 4. The man was obviously a psychotic and it has nothing to do with being a "peace activist." Anyway, why do you call him a peace activist when those two words are never mentioned in any of the articles?

The interesting thing about this story is that it didn't make front page headlines. I only heard about it because it was brought up by Glenn Beck. If the roles were reveresed, and a sodier had shot a peace activists because he was tired of them bashing what he does, that would have been the top story in every MSM broadcast for over a week. Why didn't this story make the same impact? For those of you that aren't familiar with the story, here is the run down. On July 4th, a man approached a servicemember and shot him in the chest. The shooter then turned the gun on himself. A suicide note was found at the shooters home that basically said that he was tired of the war and was going to kill a servicemember on July 4th to make a point, then kill himself.

I'm positive this is an isolated incident and doesn't reflect the actions of any other peace activists. This tragedy is a single event and shouldn't be politicized to become a debate on anti-war protesters. It is about one person who committed a wrong act that has nothing to do with any other anti-war protesters.

Peace activist shoots and kills a soldier... wow - how peaceful of him. NOT! That is insane! Some of these people are not in their right minds. That is like the anti-abortion people who bomb clinics and shoot doctors.

I'm glad you brought this up.
We should probably round up all the peace activists to prevent this from happening again.
good job !

That is like saying Christianity is about killing children, because some religious wackos claimed God told them to kill their children. In reality, even this silly statment would be more credible than your implied argument considering this occured once while several women have claimed God told them to kill their children.
Get a clue, before attempting to spread lame allegations, using an isolated act caused by some nut, as your evidence!

Does not sound like the peace activist really wants peace. fighting against violence with violence never makes since. Sounds to me like someone with no direction jumping on a band wagon with no real belief in what they are fighting for. And i didn't hear about it, Where did it happen and when?

And there's almost no media coverage at all.
If the situation were reversed, there would be non-stop coverage. Talk radio would be blamed, and there would be much hand-wringing. Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, Durbin, Kennedy and the usual lot would all have their turns at the microphone. There would be no talk of "one lone nut."
I'm not saying this represents the whole left. What I am saying is that there is a definite double standard.
PS Look at all the responses below, and again imagine reading them if the situation were reversed.
PPS I had heard he was only wounded - seriously wounded, but alive. I hope he has not passed away!

How did being a 'peace activist' figure into the shooting? Wasn't the essential aspect of this individual the insanity of the act of murder, regardless of the reason.
