I am pregnant and having heavy bleeding. For the past few days it was just spotting but now it is heavy and i'm also having bad back ache. I only found out I was pregnant last week-roughly 2 months. My friend told me when she had a miscarriage she didn't need to go to the hospital. Is this correct? What will happen when I go and will they still be able to tell I was pregnant? Please help...

First, let not get too worried until after you have confirmed a miscarriage with a doctor. Many women have a period while pregnant... lets hope that's whats happening here. BUT you do need to go see a doctor as soon as possible. If you are having a miscarriage, you need make sure everything comes out. I miscarried naturally last year at 14 weeks but my doctor still wanted me to come in to have an ultrasound done and have my "levels" checked. I'm not sure what will happen when you go in BUT when I went to see my doctor, he did an ultra sound to make sure that the fetus, sack and lining on my uterus had passed. LUCKILY everything was fine BUT some women have a hard time passing everything threw and have to have a D&C. Thats where they go in and remove everything. I wish you the best of luck and if you are having a miscarriage... I am so sorry for your loss.

First off, don't freak out. The more you freak out the worst it will be for you and your baby. It may and it also may not be a miscarriage. I will tell you my story, about 2 weeks ago (I am now 15 weeks) I woke up covered in blood and I mean covered...all over the sheets and everything. I started freaking out, crying hysterical and everything. I was bleeding so heavy that I had to jump into the shower where I continued to leak like a faucet. I didn't have any pains but I was still freaking out. I even passed a huge clot (sorry, I know it’s nasty), this was @ 5 am so I had to call a service and then wait for my doctor to call me. I didn't go to the hospital because I was leaking too much, through my cloths and even going through a ton of pads. My doctor told me to go in @ 9 when the office opened. On the way to the doctor I started bleeding again, so much that I had to get off the train (I live in NYC) and take a cab back home because I bled through my pad and pants...thank god my bf was with me and gave me his shirt to wear. Anyway, it turned out that I had a collection of blood in my belly. The baby was perfectly fine. My doctor told me that during pregnancy women produce a lot more blood than normal and that either my uterus or placenta ( I was such a wreck I cant even remember) wasn't absorbing the blood quick enough and it was collecting creating a blood clot. I was put on bed rest and told to take it easy and that I will continue to bleed until the clots have either disappeared or have been passed. I ended up passing at least 7 of them before it finally disappeared, which was just this pass Monday. I am still spotting and still freaked out a little because my uterus is abnormal and I may just end up bleeding my entire pregnancy. With that said, call your doctor. After a miscarriage, you need to go to the hospital or a doctor because they need to see if everything came out and if need be, finish the job...I am very sorry for putting it that way but it's true. You can experience a m/c without any paid but unless you are passing tissue I would try not to freak out until you speak to your doctor. I'm sorry I do not know what tissue looks like so I can't help you there but I hope my experience has at least put your mind at ease if only for the moment. Good Luck to you and congrats.

u only dont need hospital if its an early mis carriage but at around 2 months u would need 2 go 2 have a d &c 2 make sure everything has come away.
i am sorry if u have i been thru it myself its awful
the hosptal will do a pregnancy test on u and u will have 2 see what the result is as 2 whether u have mis carried or not.
when i mis carried the only way they knew id mis carried is because the 3 preg tests they did was all coming back negative
i definety was pregnant (only 5 weeks gone when i mis carried) because the doctors confirmed it for me 2 weeks prior 2 that happening
good luck & all the best

You need to get to the ER if it gets worse, or just schedule an appointment, your friend should have gone, if the baby's fetus stays in there, it could damage your chances of getting pregnant again. When having a miscarriage, once you go to the doctor, they do what is called a DNC, and they remove the dead baby and the amniotic sac, so that you won't get any infections and you will be able to become pregnant again with no problems. I would seriously go if I were you, if not something else could be wrong, and you might need medical attention.

Go to the hospital straight away babe. I also have had 2 miscarriages, the first being at 12 weeks. Never worry about what your friend says, you are better getting proper medical treatment. They may want to preform a d and c, which isn't as bad as it sounds but its better having that than contracting an infection. Take care x

Since I am one of the last to write, I'm hoping you have either already called hospital or on your way to one.

I had a miscarriage at home after 2 months...I was stunned by the size of the baby already...would DEFINITELY NOT suggest it is "nothing" like your friend said!!! (Husband finally arrived and we arranged for a relative to meet us at hospital to pick up our other 2 children...)

2 of my daughters and a daughter in law were more lucky, doctors helped in time, and their children survived and are joys...

Prayers are with you!

....and by the way...I think you did a smart thing to come on-line and ask....A support system is good for those of us whom are far from family and friends and maybe with 1 or more children at home that means waiting for help....and waiting is the hardest part!.....God Bless :)

I am not a nurse or medically trained, but I have been through this before. I have to admit it does sound like you are but you never know so please get yourself to the hospital or GP unit soon.
The pregnancy hormone lasts for two days after a miscarriage.
Keep a little hope though; I bled in one of my pregnancies and my daughter is 9 now. All the best.

please you need to go to the doctors, who will possible send you up the hospital. if you go to the hospital they may give you a scan to see if the foetus is still there, because if you have had a heavy bleed with big clots in they may want to check, i had bleeding when i was pregnant fingers crossed that things are OK for you hope so .

Call your doctor immediately ask for an urgent house visit. Go and lie down and wait as calmly as possible. It may be nothing but you might need some help in protecting the pregnancy. Don't delay.
If your doctor can't come call an ambulance.
Good luck hon and big hugs it must be very frightening.

you need to go the hospital. they will make sure you are ok. if you have indeed have had a miscarriage you may have some tissues left inside you that needs removing go now or ring an ambulance. you may still be able to save the baby and have bed rest.
