If people talk about you in magazines and you are a household name then yes you are a celebrity. But if that doesn't happen to you but everyone in your town knows you, you are just a friendly and people person type of guy. Being a *celebrity* isn't always a good thing.

Might depend on why your a big deal. If you killed six people, that would make you a big deal, but not a celebrity.
Stop worrying about whether or not you are a celebrity. Paris Hilton is a celebrity but is only famous for partying and going to jail.
Just worry about being a good person. It's better to be renowned for that.
