You know, these things happen sometimes. Personally, I believe that every life is precious and that your daughter's life has meaning and value, exactly the way it is for however long she lives. The fact that she has a birth defect doesn't diminish the value of her or her life. People who aren't "perfect" are just as valuable as people who are believed to be "perfect." (Nobody really is perfect, of course.)
I know that it's really hard for you and your family to go through this experience, but the point is to love her with everything you have throughout her whole life, no matter what. You can make her life perfect in that sense, because you can make sure that this baby only knows love from you, no matter how long she lives.
