I got some flowers a month ago and havent watered them and should have, but anyways they were fine Monday, but on Wendesday they had dried up and wilted over. I watered them with like 4 qts of water wendesday and they havent came back yet, and i watered some more yesterday, and the dirt is all dry again. I thought that they would sprout back up??

Hi... it depends on what the flowers are and how "dead" they were on Wednesday. And are these in a pot or the ground? I'm figuring it's a pot or hanging planter. If they got completely dried out in a hanging planter and wilted and the leaves all got crispy, then SOMETIMES they will come back. Usually the ones with soft (herbacious) stems will stay dead and the ones with woody stems have a chance of resprouting.

At this point, water normally. That is, just keep the soil at a normal level of dampness for plants. If you over-water when a plant has few/no leaves, you will give it more than it can take up and the roots will rot. More is not necessarily better, and do not fertilize right now.

Good luck!

If you cut them about two inches from the ground they might have a fighting chance to sprout new growth. You might want to check to see if the variety of plant is a annual (does not come back each year) or perennial (comes back each year) You have to keep them watered but not drowned. If you got them from a local retail garden shop such as a Wal- mart, Lowe's or Home depot they have a guarantee that you can bring your dead plants back for new ones. I would also mix up a gallon of miracle grow according to the package and water the flowers with that instead of just plain water. Good luck:)

You may have watered them to much when you did water . Which is just as bad, because then the roots get rotted and there're goes your plant .
Its better to water a little at a time each day .
I water in the mornings , that way your chances of slugs and all that at night can be prevented . They have a tendency to come out more at night .And sometimes if you see little bugs on your leaves , underneath that is a problem , then you need to treat your flowers with a spray .Gi to "plant database " it will tell you alot

Most likely this is a case of too much too late. If you don't water them before they get past saving, it's too late. You can try a little Miracle Gro, or Peters, but I think you are too late. The general rule of thumb is ( for grass, plants, trees or shrubs ) water once a day for first week and every other day for the second week. After that whatever's normal for your area. Good luck- hope you didn't spend alot of money- If you are not too good about watering, you might want to get some drought resistance plants instead.

If there is any green left on it, they will come back, but it'll take work. Get some miracle grow and mix that with your water. Keep watering them daily, and on very hot dry days, water once in the morning and again in the evening. My plants wilt on hot days, there's really nothing you can do about that, but be sure they get plenty of water. If there's anything left of them, they'll come back eventually. :)

Are they cut flowers? If so, they have probably lasted as long as possible.
If they are a perennial flower planted in the ground, you should water them regularly. They may have dried up & died after a month with no water.

The soil is compacted. Aerate, then water. Otherwise the water merely runs between the soil and the pot, out of the bottom, not doing the plant any good.

I hate to say it, but it they haven't perked up yet then they are probably gone. You can try to continue to water them and see what happens. Water everyday until you see improvement.
