imagine a place with ferns as far as the eye can see, the sky is always gray, a dense fog constantly presses down the place, there are no trees, and the ferns sway even though there is no wind. there is no sound except your beating heart, nothing else. you can't even hear the ferns. not even a compass works in the barren place. what would you call that place?

I would call it some alien planet that lacks a magnetic field. The atmosphere is dense and humid, to be suitable for ferns. You must be in a space suit, because you can hear nothing outside, only you heartbeats. Perhaps the planet is smaller than the Earth, because nothing very tall grows there, due to a thinner atmosphere, due to a weaker surface gravity.

I would call it a void in the middle of nowhere, and probably rather cryptic. I would love to live in this wonderland because of all the mysteries it holds, and I would love studying and trying to better understand how such things occur.
