The only jobs that legally require a polygraph are certain positions with a high-level security clearance. Not all jobs with a security clearance requirement require a polygraph; that is reserved for the most sensitive only. This is not limited to government positions, by the way. There are any number of government contract positions that require a security clearance with polygraph.

Short answer is any job the employer wants. For the most part the only Government job that officially requires a polygraph is being an agent in the FBI. The CIA, NSA, DIA almost certainly require them as well, but their policies are not public. Anything that require the employee to handle sensitive information directly related to national security potentially will require a polygraph. In the civilian world, dealing with large amounts of money, Jewels or precious metals are likely to have a polygraph before entry, but it is up to the employer.

I believe ANY employer can request that you take a polygraph.
Any job dealing with law enforcement or military could certainly require a polygraph.
But I am pretty sure that even TARGET could require a polygraph if they wanted.

I have a government job and I wasn't required to take one. I believe most police departments require one.

I was asked to take one when I applied for a job with the Church of Scientology in Chicago. No kidding. I think I know someone who was asked by an armor car company.

it doesn't currently... but the title of President of the United States should. A permanent polygraph attached at all times.
