We've been there for more than four years, 3,600 troops dead, 28,000 wounded. Spending 12 billion taxpayer dollars per month in Iraq, approaching half a trillion total. Half a TRILLION! Meanwhile, al queda is at 9/11 strength. WTF exactly has half a trillion dollars boughtus?

You're right. The Bush administration as no good reason to expect us to wait any longer. They have had plenty of time. But they always say "give us a chance" like we have never given them a chance on Iraq before.

He said the same thing last year -- "Wait until March when I get a report." Then he did not like the report he got and he replaced the commander.

Half a Trillion has bought BusHitler and Cheney a lot of retirement funds for their families!

Bush is pulling a slick one right now. During the summer heat, the fighting usually subsides and insurgents take to night-time fighting. Bush is using this natural cycle to make it look like improvements are happening. Wait 'til the winter - fighting will increase again.

because that was the time congress agreed on

They said they wanted to wait until September to decide whether the surge was effective or not. I think the better question is why won't congress wait until September to make their decision. I think they are afraid things will improve before then.
