I am going to give him the benefit of a doubt and assume that being that he came from a middle class family to become filthy rich, he had to work hard for it and nothing was handed to him.
So why doesn't he champion that same method for the poor people of today?
Hand-outs aren't the answer.

Why does he need to tour the country. All he has to do is visit the trailer park right across the street from his oversize mansion. He would get quite an earful.

Know what would be nice? If every Presidential candidate was compelled to spend some time in an impoverished area in our own country.
There has not been one President, ever, who wasn't wealthy. They have all been upper class. Some came from poor roots, but all of them were wealthy at the time they took office.
It would be nice if a President was compelled to spend some time in the reality that many Americans have to deal with on a daily basis.
Frankly, I think even people like you, who aren't wealthy but are able to pay your bills and, I assume, live fairly comfortably (since you have an internet connection), also don't realize how badly some people have it in this country.

curiously you do not communicate lots with the unfavorable of united states of america of america. in case you probably did, you will understand how stupid your question is. once you refer to somebody who hasn't had lunch yet, do you brag approximately what your ordered at a eating place an hour in the past? Amazingly adequate, somebody is authorized to pay in spite of they choose for his or her haircut, as long as they earned the money. As a legal professional, Edwards did. this does not advise he does not care approximately poverty. To think of it does--and that anybody else has the superb to assert how he ought to spend his very own funds--is laughably simplistic.

You answered your own question....coming from a middle class family and coming from a poor family are two totally different things. I agree handouts are not the answer, but I am willing to hear what other ideas he has. I don't care that he is rich. I would rather have a rich person that wanted to help poor people than a rich person who couldn't give a crap about the poor.

Thank-you for a refreshing and well overdue point of view. The democrats have been too long considering Americans to be nothing more then pre-schooler's, not able to come to these conclusions on our own. I only hope this question you ask will bring sense too many, and they will also agree with your very intuitive observation.

I agree with you. He is just pandering for votes. That's a large group of people to vote for him. Even though they are typically do not take part in the voting process. I wonder if there is any correlation there (not being able to support yourself and not making an effort to vote)?

He hopes to get the poor vote, by promising them that they too will live in mansions and have brand new cars and money from the government will be flowing like honey.

Have some more cool aid and get a clue. Hillary will raise the $500 million needed to win. Obama and Edwards will not. It's about money and power, thanks to Republicans Hillary has both, this is your homework for today. Buy her two million seller books and read them.
Poverty in America is out of control and Just like Reagan the Republicans in Congress and Bush refuse to except facts.
A Clinton/Edwards ticket will give Democrats 8 years in control of the White House. Edwards would like to have personal stories to tell in the 2008 debates about how we have two America's one for the wealthy and another for the working class and poor. I hope you got a nice tax cut, our younger people got a $9 trillion debt from them under Bush and Republicans. BTW, more homework read about "Hands across America." Reagan was so stupid he took part in a protest against himself and his policy's.
