A skilled baseball player approaching a milestone that's been around for over 30 years. What can anyone say.....

Even if drugs were present, those specific types taken will not give anyone an edge to hit outrageous amounts of HR's. Also, he took them while they were not banned or illegal in baseball, so no corrective action should be taken.

I watched Henry Aaron hit 715, watched Rickey Henderson steal his way into history, watched numerous batters hit over 3000 hits and still think baseball is as popular as ever!

I congratulate Barry on his impending record breaking HR, and hope for more to come!

(I also hope that the children and ignorant people here that hate Barry Bonds learn to spell..... Please..... Low IQ's should have their own question and answer forum called "Duh.com")

If it will stop these endless and pointless questions, I am all in favour of it.

Once he does it, and it's almost certain, it will be over and done with, people will then move on to complain about whether there should be an asterisk or not.

Who cares. Yes, we have tied a great deal of importance to that # (755), but it's really misplaced and I don't feel like explaining it again.

Actually, I think I will just boycot Bonds questions.

Nope. I don't. Not at all. It will be a sad day for most of us baseball fans. When it happens, you will see A-Rod become one of the most popular players in the game though, as it will be about 6-7 years until he breaks Bonds' record.

If the haters were serious, and unwilling to live in a world where Bonds has more than 755 home runs to his credit -- so sincere that they would be willing to end their lives when the fateful (heh) ball is soaring towards McCovey Cove -- then, yeah, I'd be rooting for him. I'd like to live in that much less hate-filled world.

But they won't. The haters like to beyotch and moan and complain, but that's all they're good for. Once Bonds has sunk their current topic of hate, they'll just shift focus to some other meaningless topic. ARod's next contract, probably.

I don't care if Bonds catches Aaron or not, though at this point I certainly expect him to do so.

No. I'd like to see Bonds get to 754 and then get injured and be forced into retirement. Aaron deserves the record. Bonds does not.

Totally
Hes the best player we have ever seen, If it wasnt the steriod issue it would be something else.
Thats the beauty of America we build it up just to tear it down.

Thats OK though when we are all older and we are telling our kids how great he was I dont have to lie when I say I was thankful the see him play when I did.

Hell no. I hope every future pitcher he faces beans him somewhere on the arm, so it affects his swing, and he'll be forced into retirement. He's not going to hit another HR for at least two weeks anyway.
