came out yesterday....The interim report showed limited progress by the Iraqi government in meeting goals for political reconciliation such as passing a law to share oil revenues.

They don't care about Iraq as long as they get parliment in agreement. Parliment can't even agree if they want the old Baathism way of government or not. I guess the generals should stand over them with a gun pointed at their temples to get what(oil) they want.

No, that don't mean squat. The political benchmarks put in place could not even be reached by our congress and they've been in existence for over 200yrs, not just the 2yrs this young government has been in place. It's also hard to make decisions when your cafeteria is being blown up. But this Democratically controlled congress doesn't care one way or the other if the newly elected government of Iraq succeeds or not. They want the Iraqis to fall flat on their face, to further their political advantage in Washington. Sick really if you ask me.

Congratulations for asking a politically charged question without the appearance of taking sides. No insults, just discourse. Y/A at its best!!

I think they are referring to sharing the revenues among the separate factions.

I wouldn't have a problem with them "sharing some of the revenues" to cover the financial cost of being their police force for the past few years.

No I do not think it is the reason we are still fighting the war. It is a very difficult compromise to reach and I think it will take a considerable amount of time to get all sides to agree.

No. That's "share oil revenues" among the Kurds and Sunni Arabs...

Wow...
