My favourite transparent gemstone is Spinel. It comes in a natural octahedral shape (2 pyramids base to base) that is gorgeous! I like the bright red and pink varieties most! As for translucent gemstones, I love Jade, especially white Nephrite Jade and green Jadeite Jade!
