Success is based on a persons ego. We humans are very egocentric by nature. The powers that be pray on this egotism and bombard us with propaganda to make us believe that happiness is equated to materialism and therefore we equate success with material possession. In that manner success from degree's or titles, or much anything outside of material possession does not appear to be success. With wealth and amassing material stuffs there is implied more responsibility, and worry of loss. This means that the more [Successful] you are the more things you have to fear loosing and that fear produces insecurity on a different level. So the mind set of most humans today subscribes to a system that insures our inability to be content . If this makes any sense I hope that it answers your question. To be content you lose the ego while maintaining your sense of self worth, and responsibility to the world around you. [DO the right thing because it is the right thing to do.] not because you might get found out if you don't. Stop equating success, and self value with the size of the pay check.

Because their success has everything to do with their discontent. Besides the definition of success is different for all people. What exactly happens when you achieve your success? Is your life officially over? Do you just buy a tombstone and wait for the inevitable. There is only so many margaritas you can drink on the beach until you decide that you have to go and do something. Success is a mathematical formula... The actual goal can never be physically achieved, unless you set your goals higher then your expectation. And it's not about the money... Money and materials are worthless and they won't go with you once you're done here. Warren Buffet, the richest investor of all time (top 5 richest person in the world), drives a modest car, owns a modest house, and spends most of his time working because that is his passion and without his work he is nothing. The only way to achieve success is to achieve your passion and to live in that moment for as long as possible.

Simple , man is an social animal. if at all he was satisfied with anything in life., do u think then he would have evolutionalised from monkeys, whatsoever no human being is satisfied in any thing , his wants are unimaginable .
Small eg: I know a man who just wanted to be an actor and he proved himself and he become a good actor whatsoever he was no content with himself and later he opted for a career as an trainer in call centre.
Simple as that have an ambition , achive it and just sharpen ur skills in that arena.
Be content or u will never have an idle life ,
The person who is not able to analyse a phase in life is never content and can never be content however sucessfull person he is.

Others or yourself?
Speaking for myself - I learned that achieving the goal was only the first step. To grow, one must always be reaching for something Higher than oneself.
Ultimately, it's all vanity.
I've observed several elderly people at the end of their lives - they only thing they wished they spent more time doing was loving their children more and forgiving those they love (friends and family). They especially wish they told the people they love that they love them.
Most wish they took more chances as it's all vanity anyway so why play it safe? But wisdom is always encouraged.
Most realize they really didn't have to taste all the candy in the candy shop as it (in all its forms) really does cause cavities.
So, being content can only be found within.
Most are seeking their Creator whom they ultimately meet in the end. But peace is found when the Creator is sought earlier in life....
Peace.

A person reasoning has limitation. But a persons desire is limitless. So once a person experiences a power that person would definitely want more and more power because he or she cannot be contented with what they have. One of the reason is the greediness or selfishness of a person.
