im 23 and he's 25. my neighbor or more than 10 years has shown interest in me on and off for 3 years. He started by paying extra attention to me and trying to get my attention. Once, after work, he saw me and we talked. He asked that i join him for dinner and the he was paying. i refused and he insisted and i refused again and he let it go. After that we would see each other occasionally and say 2 or 3 word to each other and keep it moving. I realized that this is stupid and approached him and he completely ignored me, i couldn't buy his attention. after we simply had a hi and bye relationship. for another year before he asked me out again. i turned him down because it was dancing, im not a dancer. after that he was a little resentful. after that the pattern would continue that way. he would pay extra attention to me at a bad time and than when i see him another time he will completely ignore me. Keep in mind i've never had a boyfriend and i'm don't know how dating works.

i've tried starting conversations with him, but everytime i do he seems restless, nervous and he only says two or three words and leaves.

At this point he doesn't want sex or a relationship, he wants a date! You've turned him down twice. Apparently you're not interested in him or you would've accepted a date with him when he asked.

if hes liked you for that long, got rejected twice by you, then asks you out again, trust me he doesnt just want sex, give us guys some credit, were not all jerks...he probly feels embarrassed that he got turned down twice already, thats why he seems nervous around you, he feels dumb bout what happened, trust me ive been in the exact situation but well i was the guy who got rejected by the girl, give him a chance, if he thinks of you the way i thought of the girl i liked for 2 years, then he does not want only sex, he must really like you, and wants a relationship with you...so ask him if he would still like to get together and hang out........good luck :)

Now, i agree with aj... And since you asking this question, you are certainly entertaining the thought of going on a date with him. How about you ask him out (you will offer to pay , and i think he will refuse you paying). make the first move and show him that you are interested if you are, or else, give it to him straight.

If he just wanted sex he wouldn't be only after you. If he continues to ask you out it's more than just that. Especially at that age, so just give him a chance! Good luck.

he likes you but he doesn't really know you that well try another conversation and see what the two of you like and go from there
