brettjj666 brings up an interesting point. what if they extend the schedule so a guy gets say 5 more startsd a year? over a nolan ryan type length career, that could be as many as 125 starts.

Nothing is ever 100% impossible, but it will be very hard, with 5 man rotations and managers able to go to the pen early, to break 300, much less 350.

I wouldn't say they will be the last, but it will be very hard for any new pitchers to approach that record.

Besides, not only do they have to be good, they need to play on a team that wins consistently for over 15 years. 15 wins a year for 20 years...and that just gets them to 300.

On second thought, I doubt we will see a 350 game winner, unless baseball goes back to 4 man rotations.

I think they will be the last 350 game winners for a long time. It could be hundreds of years but eventually the game will come back to 4 man rotations. They will be the last in our lifetimes. I think Sabathia has a shot at 300, 350 is a stretc though. CC can get to 300 if he can stay a well above average pitcher until age 38. I did a little math and threw out how many wins Sabathia will have each year for the next 14 years. I gave him some bad years, some good years, some great years and some years were he was horrible. It came out to be just a little over 300.

Not for a long time. Johan Santana may reach 300, but I doubt 350. Sabathia is almost 28 or 29% of the way there, but will he be a 13/14 game winner his whole career? It's too hazy to tell in the long run.

Most likely, with the modern-day 5-man rotation, it will be very unlikely to see a pitcher gather 350 wins. 17 or 18 wins nowadays puts a pitcher in the running for a Cy Young, it would take 20 seasons of 17 or 18 wins to get to 350. Hell, 300 wins by any young pitcher is going to be damn impressive, forget 350.

It's very difficult to say anything can't happen.

What if they go to 180 game schedules?
what if someone has some X-men power like Jean Gray and can control objects,

I jest, but you get the point, I would say no, simply because saying yes is against the odds.

Glavine is coming up on 300 wins, and i can see him pitching a couple more years. he may be a long shot, but not entirely unreasonable.
although i dont know how old he is, but he's still a decent pitcher

Probably not, but the next man to win 350 likely isn't yet born.
