This is real easy. McCain is running in the republican primaries. In order to do well republicans would have to support him. Considering his opposition to tax cuts, and border control, his support of campaign finance reform(restriction of free speech) and the fact that republicans don't trust him this should not be a surprise. What is instructional about this is how the main stream media plays this. You see the MSM does not want border control, tax cuts, or free speech, so for them these can't be the issues McCain is loosing ground on (we are always right and the troglidites that make up the republican base are always wrong). Therefore it must be McCains support of the war(we hate the Bush war so everyone must hate the Bush war) As always with the MSM it's all about them. They couldn't figure out how real patriots think in a hundred years, but it sure is fun to watch their Mr Magoo analysis of the McCain meltdown

A. He seems to many people quite "old".
B. That Baghdad Market photo-op, with an entire company of marines guarding him and him wearing a flak jacket, all to show that Iraq's security was "improving", just made him look senile and laughable, to be honest.
C. He probably lost 50% of his hard rightwing support with the immigration bill.
D. His campaign has already blown 90% of its money. He ramped up way too early, with like 150 staffers already a year and a half before the election.
He's toast.

The media are idiots and more often than not just plain wrong. It's his support of amnesty that did him in, and if a media person had a brain they would just ask any republican and we would tell them. They are not interested in the truth and haven't been for years.

Because he is in favor of the War in Iraq and the Illegal Immigration amnesty bill, two incredibly stupid things to stand for. I was a strong supporter of his until he got lost on the issues.

McCain's popularity right now is so low because of the fact that is popularity is spurred on only due to the media's support of him -- and the media has "jumped ship".

He is a war monger. He talks as bad as Bush, maybe even worse. This country isn't looking for another 4 more years of that, they are looking for a way out of this war. McCain needs dropped from this campaign like a hot potato.

Because what he says makes sense, which is not what the media and rich politicians want to hear, therefore he is branded from the word go.
