Many call home Africa, hence the name African-American. (Notice 'African' is before 'American'.) Others call themselves Italian-American, Japanese-American, French-American, Mexican-American, etc. Of course, some make it a bit more general by calling themselves 'European-Americans'. And me? I just call myself an American since my family has been here since the 1700s.

Do you really want to start this? If you want to truly dissect the human race then know that a Creationist will say that your very origins are in the Middle East with your first Father and Mother being, of course, Adam and Eve. So are you now Middle Eastern? On the other hand, an Evolutionist will declare your Father and Mother an Ape somewhere in Africa. So are you now African?

Being so far removed from my mothers ancestors in Scotland and Ireland (1556 is as far back as we have record), I do not consider myself Scot or Irish. From my father's side I have Norwegian and even Native American Indian. From my mother's, father's side, mostly Swiss. So which should I declare, as you suggest? I declare none, but American!

I am an American and my homeland is The United States of America! Anything else I carry along with me from my forefathers is considered "the spice of life!"

This question makes no sense. Yes, my great grandparents came here from other countries. But 3 generations on both sides of my family were born in this country. There is no reason for me to call any other country home besides the United States of America.

I believe Americans consider the UK to be their home.

Why?

Well we all really know they aspire to be British because we are so articulate, intelligent, good looking, speak with the Queens English, coherent, generally well liked and respected throughout the world. All of the characterstics that Americans are simply devoid of and yearn to have.

The Americans are soooooo envious of us. That is why there is sooooooo much angst in their rather tardy and weak responses.

Oh, I forgot to mention our emaculate dental wear!

Do have a nice day!

Hi ya Sidney, I was worried that you'd left us. Glad to see you're back. So far as your question is concerned, I think only Irish Americans still consider themselves as belonging to the auld country. The rest have pretty well assimilated. By the way come off the "as an Englishman" bit, we all know that you're the famous failed American comedian - Sidney Vicious from some way north of Atlanta.

After defeating most those countries in war, we Americans feel it is better to call the USA home.

Don't they live on another planet in an alternate dimension- free from the ravages of trendy political fads like Socialism and New Labour?

Wish I could visit. I hear Yank birds are right tasty and well fit. And melt with an English accent.

Good Afternoon, ladies. Care for a stroll?

Home is the United States of America. My family tree goes back to all of Europe, and traces back to the Rome Empire. Even with that knowledge we've been so far removed from that area that its not even a concern
