. Simply follow the money and mean it

The Patriot Act supposedly allows us to freeze Al Qaeda accounts and contributions and to a limited extent it has allowed us to cut down on donations from Mosques and other so called charitable outlets. But this is a small percentage of their money

We know that Osman Bin Linden and the big guns of Al Qaeda get their money from investments in Saudi Arabia. We know that 19 of the hi-jackers came from Saudi. So where do you think the money is for AlQaeda?

We need to take on OPEC. We need to make it clear that we will be paying the same for a barrel of oil as they do for a bushel of wheat. We need to stop American Oil Companies from pumping billions in Saudi which then goes to AlQaeda. We need to face the ugly truth that we fund terrorism everything we turn the key in our Broncos and Hummers.

At the same time as we dry up the money for terrorism we need to attack the roots course, lack of education for the poor of these so called oil rich countries. They see America as an enemy because we are funding the governments that neglect them. We need to, as trite as it sounds, win the hearts and minds

We cannot do this using only the military we must use diplomacy and compromise as well as military might. But the sad fact is that we have made the situation worse instead of better by using the military and no diplomacy

Want to stop AlQaeda? Turn off your car. Walk to the nearest book store and send a book to some poor little girl in Saudi showing her the better life she can have.

After 9/11, Bush asked other countries to wipe out AlQaeda, but that hasn't been an easy task.
We could have a CIA convert war on the extremist, but that left to countries could prove to be un-democratic, and takes us down a slippery slope.
It is tough fighting an enemy that has no rules, but then again, we have on occasion won wars against a sly enemy-usually using the same tactics; which would be to change an entire ideology.
Our military, (which we have spent gazillions of dollars) is at the whim of the President, and he is using conventional war type tactics with very little diplomacy, and is proving un-effective Meanwhile, Al Quaeda works on a limited budget, a fraction by far, and accomplishing quite a bit!
The way to fight Al-quaeda, and destroy their hate for us, is to leave Iraq, use diplomatic incentives for all countries to abolish fundamental extremism, and become independent from oil-all these things must be implemented as soon as possible.

I think we should not focus our efforts only on Al Qaeda. A rogue terrorist with a car and a few hundreds of dollars has the potential to kill civilians. We should focus on making sure our security and police officers know what to look for rather then trying to go after al Queda. If the US is allowed to fight and win the war in Iraq, al Queda will essentially be destroyed.

By fighting AlQiada however its spelled, forces all over the world as we are. It won't be easy however due to cooperation with middle eastern governments. Don't forget along with establishing their democracy, that is part of the goal in Iraq. People don't like that, so our efforts are trying to be reduced by protest.

Well now that a fight against a small band of terrorists localized in one mountain range has been widened into a global conflict against the entire islamic jihadist movement (thanks W), we don't have much of a choice.

We need to get the moderate muslims to condemn the acts of the fundamentalists, and take the lead on denouncing them. The problem is that many of them remain silent, partially due to perceived injustices in Israel/Palestine and US support of Israel.

A good first step would be to work with our allies to put pressure on other foreign governments. Of course our current administration would rather go it alone and alienate them.
