I'm recently started taking Yaz for my PMDD and irregular period. In all birth control packages the last 4 or so pills are inactive sugar pills which make you get you period. So, my question is, would it be bad not to take the inactive pills? or can I skip them and just start on a new pack and keep taking the birth control.

I'm on Yaz for PMDD, too, I wish you all the best, I hope that you find that it works for you as it does for me. :)

If you want to do this, there really shouldn't be any harm in doing so. You may want to check with your gyn beforehand, and know that most doctors will have no problem with a woman skipping her period every so often.

Good luck to you!

You can skip them, but if you start right into the new pack when you should be taking the sugar pills you probably won't have a period. Also, your yearly prescription may run out before the doctor gives you a new prescription.

Yes. its fine to take skip the pills they don't' do anything for your system. They're only purpose is to help u keep track of when u need to start u new pack. Again yes, u can immediately start a new if u don't want ur period. However, this can cause spotting in some women. Also, I don't suggest doing this every month. Your body needs to cleanse itself naturally i.e. ur period. But this comes in handy for when ur on vaca or just don't feel like having one. however, ask ur doc first just incase there is additional infor u need. I'm just going on what my Doc has told me.

You don't have to take them they really have no effect. They are there so that you can continue the habit of taking a pill everyday, and so you remember when to start taking the actual pills. Its just for routine.

You don't have to take them, but it helps you remember when to start your new active pills. I wouldn't skip them and immediately start active pills without talking to your MD first.

There has to be a medical reason for this. Please ask your doctor.
