My uncle gave me an atv, the thing has been painted on more times than my finger nails how do i find out what model it is?

Look for a VIN or serial number somewhere on the frame and or engine, and look it up in a search engine.

Stick itout by the road for sale, ask if they know what it is.
Just put like 3000.00 firm for a price - noone will buy it.
