I have an idea that i want to turn into a website. It's quite novel and I know that it hasn't been done before, but I'm worried about *copycat* sites coming out with the same thing as soon as I go to launch. Given that I have something that really hasn't been done before, does the law offer me any protection for my idea *without* having to apply for a copyright, servicemark or patent for it?

If so, how would one enforce this if copycats were discovered?

Thanks!

You may have a concept patentable under "intellectual properties" . Getting this patented and then being able to
protect it on the Internet are two different things.

PS- patent attorneys and patent searches are expensive:
good luck.
