Is my computer protected if I download AVG free and spybot?? Do I need a firewall or is anti-virus and spyware enough?

offers the best I've ever seen. It works with any P to P, which is more than I can say about Zone Alarm. Only run one anti-virus and AVG is the best by far. I only use Spybot because I also have a brilliant commercial program which I pay for. Without it, I'd also run Adaware. Then you're like a lady walking down the street in her undies. You're sort of protected! Common sense is the best protection of all. The Internet is full of dark alleys. It's up to you to choose your path and tread carefully.

its better to be pro-active , there fore you need 1 firewall. AVG free is last only for a few weeks. so you'd better get an internet kit that includes AV, firewall, anti spyware, mall ware protection

Depends on how you connect to the Internet. If you have a router w/built in statefull firewall, then you don't need a personal firewall. If you connect directly to a cable/dsl modem and leave your computer on a lot, then yes you should have a personal firewall.

I agree with richmond girl. You do need a firewall. I personally don't care for Zone Alarm. At the very least, use the default one that comes with Windows.

You should get a few more antispyware programs, The Windows firewall is good enough. Here are some other free antispyware programs and free firewall if you need it http://www.basicspywaretips.com

hi !!!! i recently bought mcfee internet protection,,,,but it wouldnt download,so had to get an expert in to have a look at the pc.he said he only uses free avg and has done for many years,he said as soon as my purchased mcfee expires download avg.he also said dont add anythin to it,firewalls ect are there included with avg,and if u download anythin else,it will fight the avg! phew! hope that helps ;O)

Unless you have really vital information on your computer a firewall is really not needed. This is for people that have something that they dont want the whole world to see. AVG is great i use it all the time.
