I think it's probably too young for sex, because most 14-year-olds don't have the maturity and knowledge to make a fully informed choice.

It probably is too young for most people to have sex at 14!! My first time was when i was 15 i loved it and have been going strong ever since!

It's not the age.
Ask yourself:
Are you mature and responsible enough to accept the responsibilities and potential consequences of having sex?
Responsibilities:
- It is your responsibility to make sure that you and your partner are safe. Ask if they have been tested recently, and regardless of the answer always insist on safe sex (remember: there are STDs that you can get even with safe sex - Herpes and HPV are very common and can be transmitted with a condom).
- It is your responsibility to go to a doctor and get tested regularly once you are sexually active.
- It is your responsibility to know your own limits and the limits of your partner.
- It is your responsibility to take precautions against injury (example: if you are going to have anal sex, make sure you not only use a condom but a lot of lube).
- It is your responsibility to know yourself and if YOU are ready to have sex - regardless of if it is gay or straight.
Possible consequences:
- Emotional hurt and subsequent drama - can you deal with it?
- STD/STI. Can you accept the risk?
- Legal. Check the laws in your state. Are you old enough to consent according to your state? Is your partner older than you? If so there might be legal complications - they could end up in a lot of trouble.

I had my first (lesbian) relationship when I was 15, I had sex for the first time when I was 16. I don't regret it because it was a good choice for the situation and the girl, but I know so much more about sex and life NOW.
(Also, I have not talked to many people who had sex before they were 18 and thought it was any good. It's so much better when you have a bit more life under your belt)

I think 14 is a little too young to have any kind of sex, but that's just me. Anyway for me the appropriate age for sex would be atleast 16.

It is something shocking for the older generations. But the days have changed, time has changed and parenting skills as well as the focus on sexuality. This is a material world, where all wants to climb the ladder of fame, coolness and status. Every one wants to be the no.1 and what helps and attracts the eyes in this era to help them reach the top is MONEY and SEX. Now let me tell you , Sigmund Freud was observant of the influence of sexual content. It attracks the eyes and it associated with almost everything. Just look at 75% of the advertisements. Well back to the point, When there is such a wide spread message sent out through the media ( souce of information to 99% of the world) the kids all get the same message. Its COOL for them.

haha i'm 14 and i sometime cant control my perversion but I still do, 14 is very young for any sex yet, I have heard you can have sex at 14 and abit mroe ready but the fact is you are not educated enough to know it yet ..and stuff so i think you shoudl wiat a few more year, atleasy 16 i guess. but 17 - 18 would be a better age. it will come dont rush ...masturbate yourself -_-

I personally think that sex for anyone under 17 isn't a good idea. You may think that it's all fun and games and it feels good...which is partially true.
And i know you have probably heard this before, but, When you get older, you view sex differently. You understand that it has a large impact of who you are. I know that you have urges and your hormones are running out of control....just be patient. When you get to 17 or 18, there will be plenty of people to still have sexual contact with. It isn't going anywhere.
Be young and enjoy it while you can. And most of all...whatever you choose...BE SAFE!!! Protect yourself!!
