Yes, I do feel a lot, when it's that time of the month and I just want to know if it's normal. There are times when I just get very irritable, and when I'm so emotional and sensitive. I want to know why that happens..

Yeah it is normal, The reason is hormones, and to add to hormones women are just sensitive anyways so it makes it worse I guess. I feel the same way, I am 28 yrs old and Those 3-5 days I am the grumpiest person in a 50 mile radius LOL ..

PMS is characterized by a variety of physical and emotional symptoms that appear during the week before menstruation and continue for about a week afterwards. Among the negative effects associated with PMS are pain, water retention, weight gain, changes in sleep patterns, and general irritability. So this is completly normal. I feel the same way around my time of the month. It sucks to be a woman.

Hormonal and Boated, sounds like Perfectly Normal to me.

Hormone levels Fluctuate WILDLY over the Course of the Month. You can Retain Fluids, Cramp, get generally Achey. These are all Perfectly Normal, and most of Dealing with it is Knowing that it's There. Relax, take a Breath, Realize you are Still a Great Person....and, as for me, I like Ice Cream as a Cure all (watch for too much Cure, and the Fat part)

To be honest I can't really say why-it's just hormones!I always get very irritable at that time of the month and very emotional.Slightest things make me angry or want to cry!I feel ugly n fat at that time of the month-think that's to do with the bloated feeling!Don't worry about it!x

yes, its normal to feel fat, ugly, cry for no reason and to feel irritable...just realize what is happing and you should be able to deal with those feelings. I always did this for about a week before my period started and as soon as I started these feeling went away....You should be thankful that you still those symtoms, once these symtoms are gone, then you have the nasty little Hot flashes/night sweats. I will trade my hot flashes for your feeling bloated, irritable, fat ,ugly, if that tells you anything.

The female reproductive system is a complex and marvoulous work of nature. Before, during and shortly after a menstrual cycle, women commonly feel fat, bloated or generally unattractive.
As hormone levels drop during this time it may (or may not) affect ones personality, usually mildly making you feel cranky or irritable.
You can blame it on mother nature but you are very normal.

Your body is changing and adjusting which throws you into a mood swing making you feel irritable and sad. Try eating a well balance break feast, lunch and dinner. Stay away from the carbs, grease and fats. Try keeping a record of your monthly periods and see if they change each month.

It is part of a woman's body chemistry.. our hormone levels go up and down so much it is a wonder we don't just destroy the world sometimes.. hehee

your levels rise when you ovualate to give your body signals to prepare for an egg that might become fertilized.. and when it does not .. then the level drops down and signals the body to get rid of the prepartion and we have our menstrual cycle..

roller coaster city.. men should have to do this for 2 months.. at least once in their lives.. and the world would be a different place!

It's normal- but try to tell yourself "this is how I look today- I will feel more beautiful tomorrow" It helps if you take a brisk walk eat lightly for those 5-7 days and drink plenty of water. Get on your hands and knees and stick your butt way up in the air and if you feel up to it- bounce your butt around in that position.
note: not to be done in public- someone may think it an invitation or you will be "attacked " by a dog.

It happens to me, too. I think it is our hormones. The body is bloated and it craves salty, crunchy, sweet foods. I know that I get colder when I have my period. I know I feel ugly and fat when I have overeaten too much. I think we all go through those symptoms and reactions. You are not alone. Good Luck!
