No...not unless there are valid reasons why the named father is suspected of not being the biological father. It should be entirely up to the parents. There is no need for it, if there is a question later on in the child's life, then a DNA test may be requested. As is the case with Mr. Rodriquez, the state of Florida is requiring him to pay child support for a child that is not biologically his, proven by DNA testing and the mother's own statement. There was no mention in the document if the child was "legally" his, meaning adopted. Is the heat and humidity getting to the "powers that be" in Florida ?

WELL,, I THINK SO ,, REASONS BEING,, NOT SO MUCH TO HURT A CHILD OR A PERSON TO SEE IF ITS REALLY THE MAN'S BABY ,, BUT ALSO FOR HEALTH REASONS,,, AND FOR THE PROTECTION OF OUR CHILDREN ,,, IN TODAYS WORLD IN WHAT WERE ALL SEEING THAT HOW FAST OUR CHILDREN OUR BEING TAKEN A WAY BY SOME NUT CASES,,,, NEVER TO BE FOUND AGAIN ,,, LOOK HOW THE PARENTS SUFFER,, AND IF THE WORST DOES HAPPEN ,, GOD FORBID,,,BUT WHEN A CHILD OR WHAT LOOKS TO BE A CHILD,, THAT ONES MISSING ,,, THEN DNA WORKS ,, JUST TO KNOW THAT THE PARENT AFTER LOSING THEIR CHILD,, AND IS FINALLY FOUND,, AT SOME TIMES YRS LATER,,, THE PARENTS WOULD LIKE TO ATLEAST HAVE CLOSURE,IN THEIR LIFES AND PUT THEIR BABIES TO REST NEAR THEM,,, ABSOULTY THEY SHOULD HAVE DNA FOR IDENTIFICATION,,REASONS,,,

if two people have no reason to think that some one Else fathered their baby then no it would be just a waste of time but if a guy has any doubt then he has the right to get a DNA test done

if possible yes.It would help people trace their near ancestors with some patience -at lest by some search/ contacts. That DNA affair is a long story in the minds of Harry who was and is blocked up to now to allow the world his knowledge by very many people with poor mentalities -especially at politics . If only that test was revealed some decades ago then you know how many lives ,misunderstandings etc could have been avoided.I have so many muslim friends every where in this world( remember me I am editor at world social problems). There are so many people willing to trac back their ancestors .You must have heard of the Americans , descendants of slaves who search so much in Africa for their roots , the emigarated Hindus who go to India ,the muslims who go everywhere all are in search of their roots ; people are developing their mental / knowledge now and want to know more about themselves and perhaps land on important clue to their problems, So I see records of babies are very essential for a progressing world like ours ( be it dirty-noboby about that ) who knows if people apply their thoughts on their roots so solutions at / their our social could have answers.!Ok my dear dear.Thank you for your question I enjoyed ed it much.

I don't think it's really necessary...How about just optional?? If all births are to go through DNA testing, It may open up cans of worms that the couple may not be ready to deal with??!!!

yes, because i do believe it should be require. in today society some young mothers- to-be don't know who they slept with sometimes, all of sudden they are pregnant. so you have the women and men cheating. it shouldn't be neither. if you are ready for a relationship, it should be base on love, honest, or trust. and if you dont have it, their is no need to be together. work out your problem first before getting committed. thats my comment.

No, only for special circumstances, and even then there must be parental consent. You cannot take away the right of the mother or child.

I think there should be a test before a birth. That would cut down the moron population.
