When I press the clutch to shift on my car, even pressing it all the way in, and I shift from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd, it doesn't shift smoothly and sometimes I even have to use my own strength to shift. Do you think the transmission needs oil or do I just need adjustment on my clutch?

Don't force the shifter to shift, it should go smoothly. First thing I would do is check the level in the clutch master cylinder. The cap will tell you what kind of fluid to use, most likely dot 3 brake fluid. The reservoir is clear plastic, and marked with a full and low mark. It should be between the marks. If the fluid level is ok, the clutch or master cylinder may have to be replaced. Look for leaks on the clutch line, master cylinder, and on the bell housing.

It could be a worn throw out bearing. When you press the clutch it presses on the throw out bearing that pushes the diaphragm which lifts the pressure plate off the clucth and the clutch off the flywheel. So the throw out bearing is the key to the system. If you need to force it i think it means the clutch isnt properly disengaging off the flywheel so you should get the throw out bearing checked.
