Its all in the mind. If you believe in some thing strongly enough, then it can be possible to happen.
Wiccan have spells such as a protection spell to stop your pet from running away, or a spell to prevent harm from your child/friend
They're aren't usually spells like wishing your ex grew frogs legs, or making a girls hair to fall out, they're spells that are usually to bring good things to you or some one close.
If you think about it, you could wish really hard for some thing and as long as you believe in it and think positively, it will happen.
So, in answer to your question, yes they do work, but not the extreme things we heard about like voodoo pins dolls etc.

Yes they do.
The rituals behind spells are all about getting oneself into the right state to communicate your desire to the Universe, and then act as a conduit to make it so. However, be careful what you wish for, as the universe has a habit of taking short cuts.
For instance, if you cast a spell demanding to be rich, there is no guarantee that the money will come from the lotto - it could quite easily come from a relative who dies suddenly.
In short, all magic is grey, even though the intentions of the caster may be white or black, and the universe doesn't suffer fools gladly.

Spells don't have religions.
Honestly, you didn't get this question from listening to Wiccans, that's for sure.

It really depends on how you appraoch the subject. If your approach is skeptical, then spells don't work. However, I have researched the subject (as in read several books, not scan a finky website), and I believe that spells actually work.
There is no one answer because everyone's approach and answer will be different, but I hope this resonates with you.

Depends on who is casting, and often on what the intention is.
They may not work in exactly the way one expects.
Be careful what you wish for........
To the answerer above - you contradict yourself.
Ask the same questions of yourself
have you seen God? Do you have solid proof prayer worked? Have you experienced it yourself?
What makes you think that in reality, saying a prayer varies so greatly from casting a spell?

Depends on the mystic capabilities of the asker. They are tied to the creative visualization skills we all have. If one has a strong right brain function and truly "feel" that the spell will work, it will.
