Husband and I are hoping for some baby making! I came off birth control maybe going on a month now, and I am having a cycle about every 2 weeks. I have started my 3rd cycle today, is this a normal thing after coming off of birth control?

I have also been taking vitex (herb) which is supposed to help everything to get back to normal in that department. Could this be helping me get close cycles too? But I have to say my last cycle was 3-4 days longer than my 1st. Maybe its helping?

It depends on how long you have taken the pill for and the brand. However, it can be quite normal as your body has to readjust until the chemicals are out of your system. As for the herbs? the best they will do is make you feel better psychologically. If you are concerned, it's always best to speak to your GP, if not your GP ask your chemist as chemists tend to have better knowledge about drugs than modern GPs do. Finally, it does take some months to get the pill out of your system so you will have to be a bit patient as it's highly unlikely for you to get pregnant before then. In the meantime, enjoy the practice and good luck to your future family

WOW! This is exactly like me, except I have been having periods every 2 weeks for about 5 months now! this happend after I stoped taking the orthotricyclin pill. I also went out and bought a bottle of vytex ...and I have seen no changes in cycle length. I was on the pill for a year and a half and was completely normal before i started it. it does make baby making frustrating for my hubby and me too.I have heard that the problem could be a short luteal phase due to your body not producing enough progesterone. Your doctor can prescribe progesterone to you to help get it going again if that is the problem which can be ruled out with a blood test. Im going to my doctor this month to get it taken care of. hope this info helped and im sending **baby dust** your way!
