Is there any way to find out where an installation wizard installs all the files, registry and then back the files up?

I have a company software which cost $79 and I plan to make a new installation because my computer is infested with virus and spyware, hence, I think I can save this money just by backing up using CD or hard drive. What I want to do is to do a totally clean install. Total backup of the system doesn't seems "safe" to me because the virus may also be backed up.

Hence, I hope that there is someone who can tell me how I can find out what a wizard installed onto my computer and to also ensure that it will work as per normal after the clean install.

Additional Info: I have already downloaded security files like ZoneAlarm, Avast, SP2 and many more and I plan to install them without internet connection and then download the latest update ASAP.

Use backup software to make a complete backup of your system, not just data files. For example, Ghost makes an image of the entire C: drive- operating system and all, so if you restore from that image it includes all of your device drivers and installed software.
