No, one should not become doctor for money. One should have the motto of service.

Unfortunately you will find that doctors do not make THAT much money. After 4 years of college, 3 years of med school, and 2 years of residency, many doctors are complaining that after mal practice insurance, and health insurance co-pays, they don't make enough money.

Although if you feel that the amount that doctors make is enough motivation for the years of studying, you should go for it. Doctors are respected throughout the community, and helping people may give you a satisfied feeling

Money is always a good motivator to investigate a career. Anyone who denies this is a liar. I'd definitely look into being a doctor over a guy who bags groceries for a living without question. Why? Because being a doctor is a well paid position. Go or it.

I kinda don't think so. Doctors have a very high suicide rate, I assume because of all the sick people they have to deal with. On the other hand they say that those who worked with Mother Teresa for the poor are very happy. I guess there's some psychological information to make it work. Maybe it's that helping people is also important. I also like the ideas of government grants and travel, as doctors are needed everywhere and the human body is amazing, unbelievable even. Maybe studiying in another country where they don't work you 36 hours a day, might be a good option.

Money shoudln't be the only motivator for becoming a doctor. Your main goal in becoming a doctor should be to help people. Money is the icing on the cake for choosing that profession.

If you knew how much time you will have to spend in school to become a doctor you'd forget about the money. The better question would be: "Do I love school and the profession so much that I am willing to sacrifice the next 10 years of my life?"

The love of service, helping other people to maintain and attain good health , are good motivators to become a doctor. if money is your prime motivator you will be disappointed because most of the patients are unfortunate.

It would be the worst possible motivating factor.

If your primary motivator is not helping people they you would be better suited for some other career.

Love and blessings Don

Service should be the motivation factor. Money is secondary.
