HELL NO... he is a cheating dirtbag who doesnt deserve to have is name assosiated with sport of Major League Baseball and should be banished from the game of baseball for what he has done to the game. A record that Hank Aaron worked his *** off for is now about to be surpassed by a guy who decided to take steroids to help in get to where he is today.

Yes he was great before the steroids but the steroids allowed for him to have a surge in power after he turned 35 nobody gets better at a physical game when they reach that age they either plateau or they begin to decline not get better. Barry Bonds is a dirt bag scum bag NOTHING who should go down in history as NOTHING.

It doesn't matter, he won't hold the record for long and he will soon be forgotten.

Just want to add something, regarding comments that steroids only make you bigger and stronger, not smarter or more skilled at making contact with the ball. Well, yes and no. That's not an entirely accurate statement. Steroids will mask injuries and fatigue. And, yes, they can make you stronger. So, the player who gets tired in the 7th inning or who is fatigued at the age of 40, well, steroids will give him an unfair advantage over someone who is not taking the steriods. In any case, the use of steroids by some and not by others give those who are using the steroids an unfair advantage over those who are not. Sportsmanship is supposed to be about even competition and playing by the rules, where better skill, talent, and natural abilities win out, not shortcuts and skirting the rules.

It really does not matter what I want or you want either. The fact is he is going to break Aaron's record. He is a cheat and a liar, and ranks right up there with Pete Rose. It's too bad, but he is going to break the record and then try to bask in the glory. Fans should not give him that glory, and I don't think that with the exception Of San Fransisco they will. He will be booed. Maybe he will retire quickly and spare himself and all of us fans his drama.

Chow!!

I am not a Bonds fan but we all have to concede that his career accomplishments place him ahead of just about anyone who has ever played the game. Good or bad every fan will come up with their own opinions about him and come to their own conclusions. He is going to break the homerun record no matter what any of us would like to see happen and we should just leave it at that. Fans will be talking about Bonds and his accomplishments for generations to come and we should just accept the fact that everyone will have their own opinion.

Doesn't matter ! "It's a different ball game" the bats are
different the balls are different , the rules are different----
comparisons that go beyond 25 years in sports are
bound to be unfair to someone,
either past or present, regardless of the steroids.

What steroids ? None of the owners or managers
or coaches were aware of them !
they must be a figment of our imaginations !

When you think about it steroids only make you bigger and stronger they don't make you smarter. To be a successful homerun hitter, Barry has been able to be smart enough to be a choosy hitter and hit those types of balls which are in a good position to be hit out of the park. Also most of the MLB players found using steriods were pitchers, so when you think about it, Barry has a harder time than many people think.

This makes no difference to me as Babe Ruth is the greatest homerun hitter of all time regardless of the numbers.
