It was Aug. 16Th, 1977 and I was rocking my youngest to sleep, when the breaking news fled the radio & tv.
I couldn't believe it, almost felt like I had just lost a family member.
(Most felt that way as he had become an everyday house hold name)

I was only 4, but I remember my Mum staring at his photo on the front of the newspaper and crying.

I don't exactly remember to tell you the truth. But when John Lennon bit it, I was on my way from grocery shopping and almost wound up in a ditch.
Enjoy your day!

I was in my parents lime green chevy suburban. I was really young and could stand up inside of it. We were parked outside of the local pharmacy. My sister had run inside for something and my mom and I were listening to the radio. It was one of my first memories of death, actually.

I was at work, and that afternoon, when I got home, my niece told me Elvis had died. I cried the rest of the day.
