Yes. Serving in Congress was meant to be doing a service for the American public, not for self-interests or for corporations. There was a time when being a member of Congress meant you were upright and willing to work long hours for the people who voted for you. Now, you have these fossils and deadbeats that run year after year, falling for their promises of "vote for me & I'll give ya freebees!" Our system is not the best, but it's better than most political systems.

I am ambivalent. Getting use to the process of congress takes awhile. The administrative staffs are made up of people that understand the system and go from one politician to another after the election. They are the ones that have a lot of unseen (unelected) power. To limit terms, just increases the power. But something needs to be done with politics as usual. There are a lot of good people that might run for office and do an excellent job if it did not take as much money and they could overcome the power of experienced politicians.

I think its a great idea. Too many politicians are able to set up their own little dynasty in congress and without a sense of urgency they don't get as much done. I think senators should be limited to 2 terms and representatives should be limited to maybe 3 terms or maybe for 12 years. Thats a decent length of time to accomplish a few things for the American people, and not enough to get too comfy.

I don't want term limits but I would like to see a requirement for our representatives that made them wear suits similar to NASCAR drivers. You know, with their sponsors names plastered all over them. That way we would be able to tell what their angle is up front.

No. Just vote them out if you don't like them. I would hate to lose a good congress person because their time was up. If we don't like them, let's vote them out. With presidents it is different because there is only one of them and is too powerful. But I don't think a senator can be too powerful, just influential.

We already have term limits. They are called "elections."
