I'd already started work in 76 but before that my pocket money was in A$. I think I got about $10 a week but I had apart-time job in a chicken shop.
Yuck!
10 in 1976 makes to 8 years littler than me. 25p in 76 sound like f all.

My Dad gave us £1. It seemed alot in those days especially since it used to be a £1 note for some reason it seemed more than a $1 pound coin.
My Mum gave us 50p for doing little chores round the house each day. My job was to empty the bins. lol.

It was a pound a week (in 1992), which was a bit of a pain when the toys I liked were at least £5 each.
I had to be good and clean up for that pound too!

I never got any pocket money, but when I asked for something (which wasn't very often) I usually got it.
It wasn't 'til I started my paper-round that I had a regular income, and I spent that on amusement parks and cigarettes!!

I didn't get pocket money, we were so poor that mum and dad lived in a cardboard box while we 10 kids lived in their pockets, so there was no room for money.
