there's a promo running from the travel agency where I bought my ticket, agency's name is Ark travel and Tours and it is located at EDSA-Taft Metropointe, needs to ride LRT when you're inside Manila, the ticket cost is $550, I am just not sure if that promo is still available, that was a month ago when I saw the ad, however you can try calling them first, e-mail me so I can give you their number if you are interested.

Assuming that's roundtrip, call different airlines from the yellow pages to compare and inquire for different flying days. Sometimes you can get a cheaper price if you travel one or more days before / after the day you initially planned. You can also ask around if there's anybody willing to sell you airmiles for a cheaper price. I'm most likely availing the PAL promo... If you have (or know someone who does have) 30,000 miles you can get a ticket for $400! :D

I'm assuming that you are in US since you are looking for a fare 'from LAX'. First thing you need to know is that tickets are cheaper if bought from the point of origin. The cheaper fares are available through consolidators. Ask around for Filipino travel agencies in your area and compare. Consolidators buy a block of seats from the airlines and they mark up the price for a profit.

you can get $600 but you still have to pay taxes which would be like $200. you will end up paying $800 all in.

I'm not sure if you can avail such low price during off-peak or low season or during promo period of certain airlines. You can check out from Northwest, Philippine Airlines, etc.
