In this day and age, alot of people think marriage is evil or something and that's only because they get married for all the wrong reasons. So if anyone that immature gives you advise, just laugh.
Marriage is when two people fall in love (not too many people know what that is today) but the people that do know what love is want to make a commitment to spend the rest of their lives together till death do them part. When they are certain they love each other and they could never be apart, marriage just brings them closer and then they begin their own life together.
THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE:
They now have the same name. Then combining everything financially and buying a new house so they could create their own family. They work hard together raising and taking care of their children. Then eventually when the children become adults, they do the same thing. Now their children take care of their parents when their getting old and ready to check out.
That is the best life. Love and marriage is so excellent. Too bad the people today didn't disrespect it and they knew how wonderful it could be. But how could they know if that's not the way they were raised?
People that hate and criticize marriage are the idiots that are ruining it! They're the ones that made the huge mistake when they married someone they didn't even know or didn't even love or because they were pregnant or because they wanted their money or because they wanted a wedding, etc. The list goes on!
THE WORD MARRIAGE IS NOT THE PROBLEM!

If you meant 'marriage', it is a social custom that is required human to conquer the universe. The primitive people were equal to animals, eating sleeping and mating, that helped the existence of the earth. When man understood that he is bound by the nature, he wanted to recover his freedom. He studied that the truth behind the changing nature is the control over human mind and he made research. He studied that energy is controlled by emotions. Every lively beings has emotions. He faught against that controls our mind. One of them was the attraction of the male and female hormons to each other (which is not actually our intention, but nature's). Thus he made certain custom for overall social existence and development and wanted to keep the steering in his hand by systematic life-style to overcome the nature and natural phenomenon. One is marriage - a social custom to release the sexual tensions, acceptable to all that do not disturb other's privacy.
