Friday the 13th became bad luck because of the association it has with the Knights Templar's destruction at the hands of the French King and Pope in the 1300's. 1307 I think, but I'm to freakin lazy to go to wikipedia to check on the names or dates. Thus, this idea of bad luck, like all other superstitions, exists in our mind only. Most superstitions are just foolish attempts to rationalize the natural world to those who are unenlightened.

No way. My 13th birthday was on a Friday the 13th and it was one of the best birthdays I could ever remember having. My birthday, incidentally, is today (7/13/2007), and I don't anticipate any unusual bouts of bad luck.
I'm pretty sure it's all a matter of perspective. Aside from the heightened anxiety of western culture in relation to the day, in the objective sense it's no more "Unlucky" than any other day.

Because one believes it to be. You create that reality and so it is. Friday July 13th, 2007 is my birthday. Always has been a good luck number and day for me. It's on a Friday every several years as with all others whose birthdays fall on a 13th.
Happy Friday the 13th everyone!!!

Just as the friday the 13th was made up to make you believe in false lies luck in general was also made up to take away from God's glory and reason for existance. Does that sum it all up for ya?
