You want to marry a divorcee & want to know his liabilities with regard to his divorcee wife & child born by her. Now as far the provisions regarding permanent maintenance/alimony is concerned these case be given to the applicant wife as a lump sum & close this chapter once for ever, or the second method is providing her a monthly maintenance for her till she remarries or herself gets some source of income that will be sufficient for her maitenance, then this monthly installment can be prayed to the family court to be completely stopped or reduced as the case may be. Now coming to the maintenance of the child from the first wife is concerned that will continue till the child attains the age of majority which is 18 years as it is his or her right to be maintenance by both the parents whether married or divorcee. Now what amount should be paid to the wife & child on monthly basis depends mainly on the source of income of the husband as well the wife if she is earning too. There is no fixed formula regarding fixing the amount but usually it may vary from 1/5 to 1/3 of the total income of the husband/father or what ever the parties agree between themselves mutually in the court. Similarly any lump sum amount to be given as alimony in on go is also decided between the parties in or out side court & the court is informed regarding such nuptial agreement & its stamp is taken it to make it full & final settlement for the alimony in the divorce case.

If you are marrying for love, then just go ahead and do it.
If it's finances that you're after, you will probably see a lot of everything he owns go to his ex.
