My picks

1. Tony Stewart- Brash, opinionated, very american.

2. Jeff Gordon- The best known american driver, why not?

3. Marco Andretti- Third generation american in F1, cool.

4. Jonny Summerton- Would be proof that the A1GP would not be a waste of time.

5 Danica Patrick- Shock the heck of the F1 establishment.

I don't think you have pick the replacement and I am not sure there is one that can do any better than Speed.
His team in a whole is sucking. If his team mate was like in the top 10 you could switch him out with some one else but I think he is actually better than the team mate. I agree with the number 2 answer guy Speed should get a chance with a better team before we throw in the towel on him.

no.1 is not fit enough to take on the the G load these guys do. His age is a facter too. Tony needs fenders now too.

no.2 he may but his age is up there now and why would he leave. If you could go back in time he might have been the choice.

no.3 his dad was horrible and and embarrassment when he tried it and I doubt very much he would even do as good as dad.

no.4 I'm not familiar with this guy. I know if he is running in the a1 GP he probably would be the fastest to adapt. I really like watching those guys race but for some reason I have not seen them on Speed like they use to show them. I think it is the NASCAR channel now. Really sucks bad.

no 5 no way. I am a fan of hers and want her to do good in what she is in now, but this is a way different world when you are playing with the world's best.

I would like to see Speed on another F1 team. I personally think he is good, as it seems he can gain some positions when the car is in one piece.

Of course though, with American drivers focused on other things (like IRL and NASCAR), it would be kinda hard to get a driver over that could be decent.

I think its a good list for drivers I would like to see do it.
1. is too old. great all around driver, wins in everything he races. fits the american mold. if only he was 22.
2. see #1. not as good all around driver but better stock car driver. still more than capable of holding his own with them. won the race of champions as a team a few years ago. very well known.
3. too young at the moment but 3rd gen would be great. with some experience he could do it. gotta put in more effort than michael did though. would have to go over now.
4. never heard of him
5. cant win in indy cars wont win in f1 or even nascar. she would just continue to be one big (little?) joke. there are better women drivers than her.

Never watched any of these in action, but would vote for Danica Patrick.

It would be a change to see a lady on track and I am willing to bet that she wont whine as bad as certain "males" in the running this season.

Now that you have said it, will there be pit girls for Danica too? That would be a funny sight!
