So that the poor stray cats outside have something to dig in when I put my garbage bags away for trash.

All the time and it's a shame. With all the recalls and food alerts it makes me nervous to keep food around that I would normally keep or give away even the dog food is contaminated. I would hate to be responsible for someone or something dying or becoming sick because I was trying to salvage food I was 85% sure of. Do you have any suggestions?

I do this when I let stuff sit when I'm not around it......I leave a plate of something,or a can of cherry coke,I leave the room and come back ___ minutes later and then I really mentally can't eat or drink it anymore,I like think that it's contaminated!
Unless it's sealed! :"grin" My birthday is tomorrow so I'm tired,I might answer just one more of these.....

No. I'll store it in the fridge and reheat it for the next day.
